Shopto, a European video game retailer, has begun listing
pre orders for amiibos on its website for $21.87 per figure. The price point is
higher than Activision's Skylanders figures however, the Nintendo's Amiibo are more interactive and are compatible
with a wider range of Nintendo games.
Nintendo's Amiibo figures, which are set to be released in
the 4th quarter of 2014, allow for data to saved to them and transferred to
supported games. The Amiibo's stats and skills evolve as they are used in
games. The current list of characters set to be released by the end of the year
include- Donkey Kong, Kirby, Mario, Link, Peach, Pikachu, Samus Aran, Villager,
Wii Fit Trainer, Yoshi, Pit, Fox McClound, Marth, Zelda, and Bowser, with more
to follow in 2015. Judging from the list of announced Amiibo, it becomes
apparent that Nintendo is aiming for them to be used to a great degree with
Super Smash Brothers Wii U. The Amiibo figures will be compatible with the Wii
U as well as the 3DS.

- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
- Yoshi's Wooly World
